Pure Manuka Honey
What is Manuka Honey?
Manuka honey is a honey produced from the nectar of the Manuka tree, Leptospermum scoparium. The Manuka tree is indigenous to New Zealand.
Manuka honey is a nutraceutical - a food that is also a medicine.
The magic ingredient in Manuka honey is Methylglyoxal (MGO). MGO is known now to be:
- Anti-bacterial
- Anti-viral
- Anti-fungal
- Anti-oxidant
As you can tell each jar of Manuka honey has a grade on it that says "MGO 690+" or "MGO 830+". This grade is a reflection of the levels of Methylglyoxal that is present per kilogram of honey. For example MGO 830+ means that there is no less than 830 milligrams of Methylglyoxal in one kilogram of the honey that is in that jar. Our Manuka honey is of particular health benefit due to its purity and high levels of MGO. To put it in perspective, Manuka honey that is graded MGO 300+ or above is considered medically valuable.
Manuka honey is becoming increasingly valued by naturopaths, dietitians, athletes and natural health consumers around the world, following in the footsteps of the indigenous Māori people who have used Manuka for its therapeutic and medicinal abilities for centuries.
Manuka honey can help treat skin infections caused by antibiotic resistant bacteria such as Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). It can help treat stomach ulcers and aid in overall gut health which as we all now know is a major contributor to overall health well-being. Manuka honey may help treat eczema symptoms. Research suggests Manuka honey has a variety of properties that may alleviate eczema symptoms.
From your gut health to your skin health, from your inside to your outside, let this special honey help you live the happy and healthy life that you seek.
